Graduation Requirements
Please review carefully the specific requirements for each graduation class as changes were adopted by the Board of Education on December 19, 2023. For the full BOE policy, click here. For a summary of changes, see below.

CREDIT ENROLLMENT
Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors must be enrolled in a minimum of 7.0 credits for the academic year.
Seniors must be enrolled in a minimum of 6.0 credits for the academic year.
Classes of 2025 & 2026
To graduate from Waterford High School students must:
Earn a minimum of 26 credits
Fulfill the credit distribution requirements (see below)
Meet all attendance requirements
Complete a Capstone Project that demonstrates the transferable skills in the WHS Vision of the Graduate
CREDIT DISTRIBUTION
Humanities — 9
Social Studies—3.5 credits (including .5 in Civics and 1.0 in U.S. History)
English—4 credits
Humanities Electives—1.5 (Includes courses in English, Social Studies, World Language, and Fine Arts above the required minimum)
Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics — 9
Science—3 credits
Mathematics—3 credits (Including Algebra I)
STEM-Related Electives—3 credits (Includes courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math above the required minimum)
Physical Education and Wellness — 2
Physical Education—1 credit (Lancer PE, Elective)
Health Education—1 credit (Personal Wellness, Health)
World Language — 1
Fine or Vocational Arts — 1.5
Capstone Seminar and Project — 1
Open Electives — 2.5
Total Credits — 26
Class of 2027 and beyond
To graduate from Waterford High School students must:
