"As an artist, you can create whatever you want and you can be known for that, without shame."

Isabelle Garrett, also known as Izzy, is a sophomore at Watauga who is involved in the ceramics community at Watauga. She has been doing art since she was younger, from dollar-store crafts to experimenting with new styles on social media.
Regardless, Izzy has been growing her skills and learning more about her style for years. However, she stated that art has never come easily to her, but regardless, she wants her hard work to show.
"Art doesn't come easy to me, I worked hard on these pieces, but it gives me a way to find peace or relax," says Izzy, "so I am willing to overcome that difficulty to achieve relaxation. "
Her art features bold glaze colors and unique designs, all of which accurately showcase her glowing personality. However, what is so unique about her artwork is the range in which her pieces sit. They all possess individuality, but none of them are the same. That individuality feature of Izzy's work is something that she values.
Izzy Garett encourages all Watauga students to create something new, and get more involved in the arts community, regardless of their medium.
