"Through preforming I’ve gained a lot of confidence that I wouldn’t have otherwise. I’ve learned a lot about myself and I’m growing towards being a stronger leader and a better artist."

How do feel your art is either represented or underrepresented by Watauga High School?
"I feel that theater is decently well represented here! We have so many theater classes and are able to put on a lot of incredible productions, which are generally well attended."
What inspires you to pursue theatre?
"I am inspired by all the productions I’ve seen from my own peers, previous classes, other schools, and professionals. There is so much impactful work out there and I aspire to create art as incredible as that!"
Why is it important to you and why do you think it deserves more recognition?
"Theater is important to me as a means of creative expression, as an emotional outlet, and as a way to meet people. I don’t exaggerate when I say theater has changed my life. Through preforming I’ve gained a lot of confidence that I wouldn’t have otherwise. I’ve learned a lot about myself and I’m growing towards being a stronger leader and a better artist. Most important to me, though, are the people I’ve met. My best and closer friend came to me through theater, and I’d be much worse off without them."
