"I love how music gathers people together"

Why is this passion important to you?
"There is so much hate and crime in this world that having music is important because it gives people hope, and when you listen to it you set aside your differences and come together. Music is a big part of my family and always has been. My dad plays guitar and sings, my sisters sing and also play the piano, and my mom sings and plays the piano. My family also loves arts of all kinds like theater, painting, music, and dance. Music is one of the ways my family comforts each other and I think music is just as important as math, English, history, or science."
Why do you think the arts deserve more recognition?
"Some may disagree with that question, but art is a way to express yourself and your personality and that's just as important as any other subject."
How do you feel your art is either represented or underrepresented by Watauga?
"I have mixed feelings of whether or not music is represented or underrepresented. We didn't even have an assigned classroom for our class, so I think it's really unprofessional that the arts have to scramble for a classroom."
How could Watauga better represent and support your art and music?
"Watauga could better support and represent the arts by making sure that each class has an assigned classroom, that people don't have to pick between things they love, and Watauga should take the arts more seriously with funding."
