The FAFSA Application opens in October and is linked to free money you may get to go to college!!

All Juniors and Seniors are able to test ACT during a school day.
The cost for the ACT without writing is $53.25! All testing will be done online.
Mrs. Leingang has 2 testing dates (Fall and Spring) that students need to sign up for to ensure all paperwork is submitted for testing!
Washburn's high school code is: 351-825
The ACT Website has some free study guides as well as link to other resources you can pay for to prepare for the exam.

Are you thinking of going into the workforce instead of right to college? Did you not meet the ND Scholarship requirement of a 24 for your ACT? Then the WorkKeys test can help you!!!
Students need to get a 5 on the following tests: Workplace Documents, Graphic Literacy, and Applied Math.
These exams can be taken at any time throughout the school year and Mrs. Leingang has a minimum of 2 test dates set aside per year for you to test as well!
The cost is $13 per test!!

All Juniors will take the ASVAB Test in the fall.
The National Guard helps to administer the test as well as helps to interpret the results for students and explore career options.
There are many places that offer free sample test questions for you to prepare for the ASVAB. A few are listed below:

The College Handbook is a great guide that helps students and parents navigate important decisions during high school that will help prepare students for their college or career path!

Registered Apprenticeships

Did you know that many growing industries in ND can be obtained through an apprenticeship program? These well-paying jobs allow for little to no student debt as well!! Learn more by clicking the picture link above.

NDUS Career Builders

Are you looking at going to college, but what more information? The North Dakota University System is a great place to start! This link specifically takes you to the ND Career Builders Scholarship and Loan Repayment page. You can get up to 100% of your college paid for if you go into a qualifying program and meet all the criteria!!!

Career Conversations

Career Conversations are You Tube videos put out by Youth Forward to help students explore careers. If you are beginning to look at career options this is a great place to start!

Careeronestop is really your one stop shop for careers! You can explore careers, take assessments to find your strengths, and even find training for a career you are interested in.

Job Service ND has great information about in-demand jobs, apprenticeships, and training opportunities that can help you begin research on career options.
