All students in kindergarten through 12th grade will be issued a device (either an iPad or a laptop computer) for educational purposes. At Warwick, we believe that if students take reasonable precautions and care for this device, it should not experience physical damage.
Parents/guardians will have the option to purchase device protection. The device protection agreement must be returned within the first four weeks of school or the first four weeks of enrollment in the district. Signing up for the protection plan can significantly reduce or eliminate the cost of the first device repair. If the device is broken more than once within the same school year, the second breakage is not covered under the protection plan.
iPad - $10/year per student (Grades K-2)
MacBook - $25/year per student (Grades 3-12)
If a parent/guardian chooses not to purchase coverage under the protection plan and the device or its accessories are damaged, the parent/guardian is financially responsible for 100% of all repair or replacement costs. With or without this protection plan, the guardian is 100% responsible for lost or missing items. Please note that a broken MacBook screen costs $289, and a damaged iPad screen costs $129. Liquid spills would cost around $749, but this amount depends on the model, year, and device.
We ask that parents spend time at the beginning of the school year to ensure students know not to hold or carry computers by the screen or close objects between the screen and keyboard. These are the two most common causes of damage. Please list the students included in your protection plan purchase.
Below are the forms if you wish to participate in the Protection Plan this year. Please submit payment and this form to the building.
