ROAR = Responsible, Only Kind, Always Safe, Respectful
Dear Families,
As the calendar pages turn to December, we are reminded that this time of year often brings a unique sense of warmth, reflection, and anticipation. Outside, the days may be shorter and the air crisper, but within the walls of our school and in the heart of our community, we are focusing on fostering an inner light—the spirit of curiosity, kindness, and collaboration that makes Lititz El so special.
Just as a single candle can push back the darkness, each act of kindness, every moment of focused learning, and all the supportive connections we share contribute to making our school a brighter, more wonderful place for everyone.
We understand that December can be a very busy time for families. Please remember to take moments to slow down and enjoy the simple joys this season offers - a quiet evening of reading, a warm cup of cocoa, or simply reflecting on the growth your children have made this year. Your partnership and commitment to your child's education are the foundational elements that truly illuminate our school's success.
Thank you for being such an integral part of the Lititz El family. May your home be filled with peace, warmth, and much light this December.
With genuine gratitude,
Jenna Louderback, principal

Keeping Holiday Healthy:
The holidays are the most wonderful time of the year, but all of us, at one time or another, have probably been sick during this highly anticipated holiday season or break. Don’t be stuck on the couch feeling miserable while your family and friends are celebrating! Here are some ways to keep yourself and your family healthy so you can all make wonderful memories this season.
Manage Stress: Baking, party planning, purchasing gifts, wrapping gifts, prepping to have everything done on time all create stress! Stress releases cortisol, a hormone that tells your body to release blood sugar. When extra blood sugar is floating around in your body, it’s harder for your body to fight off viruses and bacteria that are attracted to the glucose. This is why our bodies are more susceptible to illness when we are stressed.
Wash hands often: According to the CDC, keeping hands clean prevents 1 in 3 diarrheal illnesses, and 1 in 5 respiratory infections, such as a cold or flu.
Eat Healthy: Many holiday traditions revolve around eating varieties of sweet cookies and candies. While everything is fine in moderation, remember to consume nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables, which are packed with protective antioxidants, to prevent illnesses.
Stay Active: Try not to sacrifice your exercise time, for holiday prep and shopping time. Continue to exercise daily because it not only provides physical conditioning, but psychological conditioning by releasing endorphins, or chemicals in the brain that are natural painkillers and mood elevators.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy holiday season!
This month in music we will be finishing up our unit on pitch as well as working on learning all of our music selections for the Winter Sing celebration held on December 22nd at 8:30am. Parents, family and friends will be able to watch a live stream so mark your calendars and keep an eye out for a flyer being sent home early December.
In Art we are beginning paint projects. Each grade level is working on specific standard related to painting. We can't wait to see the finished projects!
