Edgewood is committed to lifelong learning for our students and our staff. Our teachers meet in weekly Professional Learning Communities to discuss standards and determine Power standards, develop common formative assessments, and dive into data to further student learning. We use common vocabulary across curricula so that students understand concepts are similar no matter what subject they are studying. Our teachers model lifelong learning. We are all learning how to implement Project Based Learning this year. During monthly faculty meetings, we learn about the different steps of PBL, then work to build a PBL unit to implement in our classes. Teachers from different disciplines work together to brainstorm ideas and suggest ways the different departments can support each other. Teachers and students all work in collaborative groups as we learn and grow.
