If you look up a definition for “puzzled,” you’ll find something like this: confused because you do not understand something. Synonyms for “puzzled” include baffled, bewildered, clueless, lost, mystified, perplexed, and rattled. While I don’t really want you to feel clueless or lost, I hope that you find yourself baffled from time to time, and I definitely want you to feel perplexed. I plan for you to experience some productive struggle and to build mental stamina.
While I love a good jigsaw puzzle, this class won't focus on that kind of puzzle (though there may be some time for that). We're going to focus on puzzles designed to make you think. These puzzles include:
logic puzzles
word puzzles
math puzzles
rebus puzzles
cryptograms
brain teasers
And what could be better than solving puzzles?? Making your own of course!!
Need a reason to puzzle -- check out this article about the benefits behind puzzling. We might not be focused on learning new "content" in this class, but you will definitely exercise your brain!!
