To be eligible for a driver’s permit and license in Kentucky, a student has to adhere to the No Pass / No Pass Law set forth for students aged 16 and 17 years old. KRS 159.051 (“No Pass/No Drive”) results in the denial or revocation of a student’s driver’s license for 1.) academic deficiency, or 2.) dropping out of school or excessive unexcused absences. Academic deficiency is defined as a student who does not have passing grades in at least 3 of the 4 block courses at South Warren High School in the preceding semester. A student is deemed to have dropped out of school or has excessive absences when he/she has nine or more unexcused absences at any point during the current school year. Any absences due to suspension shall be unexcused absences.

A student should request a School Compliance Verification Form (via the form below) at least 24 hours in advance of his or her scheduled appointment at the Warren County Driver's License Office. Check in with Guidance after 24 hours to pick up the completed form.
