Choosing an appropriate GCSE Maths Target
1. Look at the grades you have been achieving in your topic quizzes in KS4 up until now
2. Talk to your teacher about what would be a sensible, motivational target
Your teacher will help you choose a target that is realistic – not too challenging but not too easy.
What do you need for college?
What do you need for college?
Grade 4 is considered a ‘standard pass’ in Maths, so you can only choose a target lower than 4 if your teacher agrees.
Grade 5 or above in Maths is required to study subjects like A-level Technology and Geography
Grade 6 or above in Maths is required to study subjects like A-level Business, Economics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
Grade 7 or above in Maths is what you need if you want to study Maths at A-level.
