Schematic Design

Overview

At their February 13, 2019 Board Meeting the MSBA approved the District's Preferred Schematic Report and moved the project into Schematic Design Press Release 2-13-19

Over the next several months the Building Committee, architects and staff worked on developing the education programming, site design, interior and exterior design, technology and mechanicals for the new Waltham High School.

The preferred solution for Waltham High School is to construct a new state-of-the-art educational facility that will fulfill all the necessary needs for the current faculty and student body. As the design progresses and changes with the input of the community and staff the website will be updated to reflect these advancements.

The preferred solution solves many of the District’s needs by constructing a new school to create a 21st century learning environment tailor-made to the educational vision of the District. This solution allows the students to remain in the existing school during the new build, with no need for swing space, and no disruption to the learning environment from adjacent construction; and then to move into the new facility once it is completed.
