CLASSWORK, EVALUATION & ASSESSMENT

Repertoire Check-Ins: Students are expected to regularly practice their repertoire outside of rehearsal time. Periodically throughout a concert season, students will submit a check-in recording, where students will sing their part of a selection of repertoire.

Singing Assessment: For each concert season, students participate in at least two singing evaluations, where they will be assessed on their knowledge of the repertoire and of the performance techniques that have been addressed in rehearsals. These assignments will be completed as an ensemble in rehearsal, and will be recorded in the same fashion as the recorded reviews.

Choral Investigations: Periodically throughout the concert season, students will work individually or with small groups to think critically about different aspects of their concert repertoire. These investigations can take a variety of forms, included written assignments, discussion-based activities, and performance-based activities.
