Walker County Project Purpose

Walker County had great success with Project Purpose this year, especially considering it was our first year with about 20 students participating in some form. However, six students did not miss a day and participated in everything we did. Similar to the students, we had a variety of businesses sign up to be involved, but the following list reflects the companies that showed up and participated with Project Purpose during the given week: Euclid Chemical, Roper Corporation, Metro Boiler Tube, Food City, Arrow Exchange Tax Solutions. Of the six students who participated fully, all 6 received offers to continue down the employment path from at least one employer. 

The training covered benefits, budgeting, conflict in the workplace, real-life scenario/role-play discussion activities, mock interviews, resume development, and field trips to employers. All of the employers were very pleased with the caliber of students. We have already begun meeting to discuss how we can improve upon this year, and look forward to continuing this next year.
