Pathways & CTSOs
What is CTAE?
Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE)
Georgia’s 17 Career Clusters/Pathways provide a structure for organizing and delivering quality Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs in Georgia’s public high schools. Utilizing the Career Cluster model used by most of the United States, Georgia’s 17 Career Clusters/Pathways model represents more than 96 career pathways to help students navigate their way to greater success in college and career. This model also serves as an organizing tool for curriculum design and instruction and provides essential knowledge and skills for the students’ career pathways. Another benefit of this model allows students to discover their interests and passions, empowering them to choose the educational pathway that may lead to success in high school, college and career. The 17 Career Clusters/Pathways encompass both secondary and postsecondary education and will strengthen and improve student transition from secondary to postsecondary education.
Below, you will find the many Career Clusters and Pathways Courses offered at Ridgeland High School.

Mission & Purpose
The mission and purpose of CTSO are defined as follows:
Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) enhance student learning through contextual instruction, leadership and personal development, applied learning and real world application.
CTSOs work as an integral component of the classroom curriculum and instruction, building upon employability and career skills and concepts through the application and engagement of students in hands-on demonstrations and real life and/or work experiences through a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. CTSO’s help guide students in developing a career path, a program of study and provide opportunities in gaining the skills and abilities needed to be successful in those careers through CTSO activities, programs and competitive events. In addition, students have opportunities to hold leadership positions at the local, state, and national level and attend leadership development conferences to network with other students as well as business and industry partners.
