We encourage students to wonder, to ask, and to have inquiries about the world around them in order to critically assess things they do not understand.
While we seek to expand their knowledge of and connection to the natural world we also place a great emphasis on building their communicative language with each other. We instill in them that they are a vital individual piece that exists as a part of a larger global community. It all begins with the forest community. We desire to teach them how to understand their own social and emotional needs and empathize with others so that they can become part of a larger and more peaceful society.
Research from across the globe is expanding to affirm that when immersing children in nature for an uninhibited amount of time neural pathways in children explode. Studies conclude that when allowed the freedom to explore, connections across the brain foster an exponential growth in brain activity that spans to all other academic areas. It is our mission to begin this beautiful process.
