Course information:
NCEA Level 2 Te Reo Māori builds fluency, accuracy, and confidence beyond Level 1. Ākonga expand their language structures and vocabulary to communicate more clearly and effectively in spoken and written te reo Māori. Students engage with meaningful, real-world contexts, express more developed ideas and opinions, and strengthen their connection to te ao Māori through texts and kōrero. By the end of Level 2, learners communicate with greater independence and cultural understanding as they progress toward confident use of te reo Māori.
NCEA Level 3 Te Reo Māori develops confident, fluent, and sophisticated users of te reo Māori. Ākonga communicate complex ideas across a range of contexts using an advanced and accurate command of language. Students engage critically with te ao Māori through extended spoken and written texts, strengthening linguistic independence and cultural competence. This course prepares learners for further study, leadership, and lifelong engagement with te reo Māori.
