Why this course:  Year 9 French is an exciting introduction to one of the world’s most widely spoken languages.
Students learn to understand and use basic French in everyday situations through topics such as greeting people, talking about themselves, family, school, hobbies, food and French culture.  The course focuses on building strong foundations in listening, speaking, reading and writing through high-quality input, interactive tasks, games and real-world scenarios. Students also explore aspects of life in France and the wider French-speaking world, developing cultural awareness and global curiosity. By the end of the year, learners will be able to hold simple conversations, understand short texts, and express basic ideas in French. This course provides a solid starting point for continuing into Year 10 and beyond.
