Spatial awareness - writing each letter in a word to the correct size so that each word fits on the one line (writing the date - Monday 24th February 2025) making sure we start writing our numbers just below the top line and sit them on the bottom line.

We are learning how to interview a class mate using carpool karaoke. First we must think of our most favourite singer or rap artist, then we will have to think of some of the most important questions that we would want to ask that artist if we ever got the opportunity to meet them. Also, we have to think of one or two songs that the artist is famous for, and include those songs somewhere in the script. All of this work will have to be recorded in our Literacy books.
To support us, we have to watch a video of Harry Style and James Corden while they are driving to work. The two celebrities are interviewing while going to work, it's pretty funny!

after chosing our favourite artist who we would like to interview, and have written down our questions that we would ask our artist, we have to choose a buddy who would like to interview us, using our own questions. We have to practice our rolls by interviewing each other before we record the final interview.

think about the article you have chosen. Is the article a report that is to persuade your thinking to agree with the author's ideas? Is the article a report that is about something that has happened?
What tense is the article written in? Is it written in past tense or present tense?
What sort of punctuation is included in the article? Do you see any speechmarks? Are there any commas? What other punctuation do you notice?

we are learning about what trees /plants are native to Aotearoa/New Zealand, and understand how these trees are significant to us.

You must choose an Aotearoa/New Zealand native tree to research. As part of the research you must have the following facts:
The scientific name
Where the plant can be found in Aotearoa/New Zealand
The trees’ use (what was or is it used for?)
The hazards (danger) of the tree if any
The colour of the flower (if it has one)
What the name of the tree means and where the name originated from.
Inclusive of your research, you must also include a sketch of your chosen tree.
Each part of your research has to be written in your Literacy books - dated every time, and all research MUST be written in your own words, NOT directly cut and pasted from the internet or taken directly from your source of information.

Blog your work on your own individual class blog. If you preented your research project on a presentation board, then take a photo of it and present it on your blog.
