Thursday 

Choose two examples of Leo’s dialogue and complete: What Leo says; What Leo may actually be thinking; The clue that supports the inference. 

Week 6 Follow up activities:

Tuesday - Become a Clue detective: 

Draw three boxes—What the text says / What I know / My inference. Complete them for Maia’s feelings, then draw a face that matches her emotion. Infer one feeling and give one clue.

Wednesday - Create a thought bubble

Thought bubble: Draw Maia beside the empty seat. Add what she may be thinking. Copy two clues beneath it. 

Thursday- Theme postcard

Write from Maia to Sela. Include what Maia learned and one story detail. Finish with a one-sentence lesson.

Write the title and speaker. State the main message in one sentence. Copy one line that supports your idea. Explain how that line supports the message. Choose one word to describe the poem’s tone and explain why.
