🌱 What is Explore Behaviour Support?
Explore Behaviour Support is a free service that helps children, young people, and adults who are having a tough time with behaviour.
If your child is showing behaviours that are challenging — like hitting, running away, shouting, withdrawing, or struggling to cope — Explore can help you understand why it's happening and what you can do to support them.
👪 How Explore Helps Families
Explore works alongside you and your whānau. You’ll work with a trained behaviour specialist who will:
Listen to your concerns and learn about your child
Help you understand what might be causing the behaviour (like communication, sensory needs, anxiety, or frustration)
Create a plan of support that works in your home, school, or community
Teach you strategies that are calm, respectful, and based on what works for your child
Support you to build your child’s independence and skills
Explore doesn’t come in and “fix” a child — they empower parents with tools and knowledge to support their child in a positive, lasting way.
💬 Who is it for?
Children (and adults) with disabilities, developmental delays, autism, or high learning needs
Families who need support understanding challenging behaviour or helping their child with everyday routines
