You will be issued with:
· Waterproof jacket and fleece
· Waterproof trousers
· Roll mat
· Sleeping bag (if required)
· PLEASE ASK IF YOU NEED ANYTHING ELSE!
Please make sure all your kit is marked with your name!
We recommend that clothing is packed into clear strong plastic bags to keep it dry in wet conditions. Pack it all into a large, strong holdall or similar, but please don't tie anything to the outside.
You should take:
Clothing
· Warm walking jacket with pockets (available for issue if you don’t have one)
· At least 3 pairs of trousers or joggers suitable for walking (Jeans are really not suitable – they are too heavy when wet and take too long to dry)
· Casual outfit for going to swimming pool
· Warm jumpers / fleeces (several, as it can be very cold at night)
· Spare T shirts / underclothes etc. – enough for the duration
· Thick walking socks (not sports socks) (plenty of spare pairs to change if get wet on walk)
· Woolly hat(s), waterproof gloves and snood /scarf
· Old trainers for around camp
· Thermals, if desired
· Swimming kit (modest - no bikinis / mankinis) and towel in swim bag (drawstring or similar)
· Walking boots or military boots (Trainers are NOT suitable for the walks)
Equipment
· Small rucksack/day sack to hold your lunch, drink, waterproofs, spare socks etc.
· A5 or larger notebook in waterproof bag (sandwich bag or similar)
· Pens, pencils and rubber
· Washing / shaving kit, deodorant, shower gel, tooth paste / toothbrush (hygiene is important)
· Several large packs of wet wipes
· Tissues
· Personal 1st Aid kit:
Plasters (blister plasters especially!)
Pain relief (Paracetamol/Ibuprofen)
Personal Medication (as required)
· Hand and shower towels
· Boot cleaning kit
· Sewing kit
· Insect repellent
· Sun cream (being optimistic)
· Pillow in pillow case (in a strong clear bin bag labelled with your name if it’s too big for your main bag)
· Small torch (plus head torch if you wish) & spare batteries
· Spill-proof water bottle
· Bring something to read and any revision material you need
· Dirty laundry bag (another clear bin bag works well for this) + a spare
Expensive items like smart phones, iPods, FitBits etc. are strongly discouraged. YOU are responsible for its safe keeping.
Anything you do bring, make sure you have the charging cable for it.
