"...Rape culture occurs in a society where sexual assault and rape are pervasive. And the reason that they've pervasive is because it has become normalized in that culture and usually this normalization occurs because these crimes are not taken seriously. And so people tend to dismiss them- or we just get desensitized to them because they happen all the time. And then as a result, they're not taken seriously and it kind of is just a cycle that repeats itself" - Dr. Jennifer Slivka.
