Guiding Light Counseling aspires to provide each person with an individualized, unique experience to counseling. Individuals will receive high quality, professional services from counselors trained in providing mental health and substance abuse counseling. Our goal is to help individuals identify their strengths in order to help them move forward with their life goals. We aim to provide accessible and cost-effective services to all so that everyone is able to obtain the treatment that they need and deserve.  Mental health counselors work with individuals, families, and groups to address and treat mental and emotional disorders and to promote mental health. They are trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques used to address issues such as depression, anxiety, substance use, suicidal impulses, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, and grief.

Description of the services specifically offered to VVSD students/families:

Guiding Light Counseling provides in-school services to all schools within the VVSD.  Our trained counselors work in partnership with the school staff to provide individual and group counseling to identified students during the school day.  In addition, our counselors work as Success Mentors at elementary, middle, and high school levels, providing one-on-one counseling services, group counseling, and family support to identified students.
