Extracurricular Opportunities

Our extracurricular opportunities are listed below along with contact information for the advisor.

Literary Magazine

Interested in writing, graphic design, art, or music? The Raid Literary Magazine is currently looking for editors for the 2022-2023 publication! This magazine showcases original student works such as short stories, photography, music, personal essays, artwork, narratives, non-fiction articles, and graphics. Editors are in charge of coming up with the theme for the issue, calling for submissions, designing the layout, working with creators to edit submissions, selling copies, and helping host writers workshop events throughout the year! Students do not have to be an editor to be featured in the issue! If you are interested in joining the team, please contact Miss Jones

If you have submissions, please use the following link: https://forms.gle/vTeJNrUBQ7LM3sv87

Journalism

The Raider Review is the BHS Newspaper. This is a publication that highlights student writing while also putting a spotlight on the BHS community. Through this activity, students explore writing, investigating, and photojournalism. As a member of the Raider Review staff, you have front-row access to football, basketball, soccer, and baseball games as well as backstage access to the theater shows. We help showcase other activities from ROTC to Speech Team. Aside from all that action, you learn how to be an investigator and photographer. We also create our own podcasts! We compete in the Southwest Suburban Conference as well as the IHSA State Finals. Editors meet once a week after school. Where there’s news, it’s where you want to be.

Contact Ms. Murphy or Mr. Lettiere for more information.
