Update 7 January: Encrypted passcode embedded in invitation link
Copying passcodes is no longer necessary. Once a meeting is scheduled the generated invitation link will now include an encrypted passcode. If you click the link you are able to join the meeting, without typing in the passcode.
Updated 10 November.
Monday, November 2, 2020, 8:00 a.m., the following changes will be made to Zoom at the VU. Using Zoom for the first time and Stricter use of Zoom. Read below what this means for you.
Every student of VU and ACTA will receive a fully licensed VU Zoom account when they use Zoom for the first time.
A licensed account is automatically created for students when they log in via https://vu-live.zoom.us. Please click 'sign in', fill in your VU credentials and you are ready to go.
Or log in at the Zoom client via SSO with Company Domain ‘vu-live’ (see pictures below).
By the way: SSO is just a nerdy way to say login with your VUnet-id.
When you join a Zoom meeting by clicking "Join" via Canvas, you will also be automatically following the above way to login into Zoom.
logging in via SSO is also necessary for other systems such as Canvas or VUweb. If you are not forced to log in, but can directly participate in a meeting, it is likely that you are already logged in via SSO. You can check this by logging in at https://profile.surfconext.nl/my-profile
