Mentimeter – What is it?
As of January 2019, the VU acquired a two year campus licence for unlimited use of Mentimeter. Mentimeter is an easy-to-use tool for online voting. Using Mentimeter you can ask questions during a presentation. The audience can respond using smartphones or other mobile devices. The results are displayed directly on the screen.
Teachers can use Mentimeter to make lectures more interactive. Students also can use Mentimeter, for example for presentations, internet surveys or meetings.

Mentimeter – How to get it
Mentimeter is available for all staff and students of the VU who have an email address ending in vu.nl, student.vu.nl, acta.nl, student.acta.nl or vumc.nl. If you already have a free, basic or pro account for Mentimeter using one of these email addresses, you can upgrade this account to the VU campus license. If you don’t have a Mentimeter account yet, you can create a new account yourself. You don’t need an account for voting.
To create a new account:
Enter your e-mailadres and click on Verify email
Go to your email and click on Verify my email. IMPORTANT: for security reasons do not use the same password as the one you use for your VUnetID.
Enter a password and your first and last name and click on Sign up. Do not use the icons for Facebook and Google.
To upgrade an existing account:
Enter your e-mailadres and click on Verify email
Go to your email box and click in the email of Mentimeter on Verify my email
After creating or upgrading your account, login to Mentimeter using www.mentimeter.com.

Mentimeter – Support
If you have a question about Canvas or if you experience a problem while using the system, click on the Help button at the left side of your screen and then click Support. There you will find information about the different functionalities of Mentimeter. You also can ask a question to Mentimeter's support team using the Chat button at the bottom right side of your screen.
If you can not login to Mentimeter or if Mentimeter is unavailable, contact the IT Servicedesk.
