ProF. bROOKE Rogers, OBE

Opening Keynote Address on May 15, 2023 on "Behavioural Science and Security"

Professor Brooke Rogers OBE is a Professor of Behavioural Science and Security in the Department of War Studies at King’s College, where she is also Deputy Head of Department and Director of Academic Staffing. In September 2022 she was appointed to the role of Vice Dean (People & Planning) for the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. Professor Rogers is a social psychologist with an exceptional track record of designing and delivering over £25 million of collaborative research projects funded by a variety of sources. Her work focuses on perceptions of and responses to risk and threat, and risk communication. 

ProF. Ruut Veenhoven

CLOSING Keynote Address on May 16, 2023 on "Happiness and Public Policy"

Ruut Veenhoven (1942) studied sociology and is emeritus professor of social conditions for human happiness at Erasmus University Rotterdam in The Netherlands, where he is currently affiliated with the Erasmus Happiness Economics Research Organization. In addition, he is an extra-ordinary professor at the North-West University in South Africa, affiliated to the Optentia Research Program. Veenhoven is director of the World Database of Happiness and a founding editor of the Journal of Happiness Studies Veenhoven’s research is mainly on subjective enjoyment of life and focuses on the effects of choice on happiness, public choice as well as private choice.
