On Community Visit Day, community members came together to discuss assets, challenges, and ideas for their future. Discussion topics included Community Resources; Recreation and Community Engagement; Development, Housing, and Jobs; Beyond Downtown; Education; Infrastructure and Public Safety. These topics were chosen at a Planning Meeting by local leaders, and there are more details about the topics available here. A listening team of federal, state, business, nonprofit and philanthropic leaders will join the forums and dinner to listen in. This event included a free community dinner, and childcare during the forums. Need a ride? On Community Meeting Day, community members come together to review, discuss, and vote to prioritize ideas for action shared in the first forums. Through dot-voting, participants whittle down a list of action ideas to a few priorities and then sign up to join local task forces that moves those priorities forward.

On Community Resource Day, community members come together for the final step in the process. New task force groups build action plans, set the scope of their work, and meet with a visiting team of resource providers and experts to identify available resources and funding opportunities. From here forward, all action is focused at the local task force level. You can sign up to join a Task Force now, or choose one to join at the meeting!
