Critter Pictures and Sketches!
This photo doesn't do this gigantic cutie justice, as he was perfectly camouflaged against an iron deposit on a rock
No creepy-crawlies were harmed in the cataloguing of this diverse stream :)
Little crawdaddies showing us the potential of the next generation to inherit this habitat!

Data From Today:
pH: 7.10
Conductivity (uS): 404
Temp (C): 19.5
This Save Our Streams calculation sheet shows the analysis of types of macroinvertebrates in relation to stream health, with my stream being in the low-medium end of acceptable conditions.
Reflection:
What this set of calculations shows represents what I've seen out in the field. A healthy, bustling stream environment with optimal conditions for colonization is apparent and highly relaxing for cairn building. I was glad for the amount of time given for this activity as it proved highly useful in collecting meaningful data sets and still enjoy my time in nature.
