Use of Videoconferencing System

There are several video conferencing sites available in SOE on Blacksburg campus. Faculty, staff and students may reserve the video conferencing unit by contacting the listed contact for each site.

OITLab staff will help with moving the unit into a reserved room, and basic set up. Before using the videoconferencing unit, please make sure you are prepared with the necessary IP address if you are initiating the videoconferencing call.

To set up a video conference call with Roanoke Center, you must make a reservation for a videoconferencing call through VT Video/Broadcast services. Please contact OIT Director (oit@vt.edu) with additional questions.

Use of Teleconferencing Unit

• SOE faculty, staff, and students may use the teleconferencing unit in the OITLab. The reservation of the teleconferencing unit and a room should be made at least one week in advance by emailing Dr. Alicia Johnson (jalicia@vt.edu).

1. The phone number for our side is : 540-231-9148

2. The users need to be aware of the charges for using teleconferencing unit for long distance calls. Any charges incurred during your time of use will become your responsibility. Please click Here for calling rates. Charges will appear on the monthly lab telephone bill. The users will be charged when the bill arrives.
