Megan uses high pressure and temperature experiments to study the insides of planetary bodies, from asteroid sized to Earth sized. She has a particular interest in the role of volatiles and light elements in mantle melting and core formation throughout the Solar System's 4.5 billion year history.
She started at VT in 2019, after Postdocs at UC Davis and Carnegie Science, a PhD at Rice 2015, a MS at New Mexico 2010, and a BS at Clemson 2007.
Megan's research is primarily in Experimental Petrology, and she runs the Experimental laboratory.
