Fluid Inclusion Lab
The Fluid Inclusion Laboratory contains state of the art equipment for studying melt and fluid inclusions in natural and synthetic materials, including:
USGS-type gas-flow heating and cooling stage
2 Linkam THMSG 600°C programmable heating/cooling stages (one is used almost exclusively on the Raman microprobe)
Linkam 1500°C stage for heating melt inclusions
Chaixmeca heating stage (600°C) (used mostly on the Raman microprobe)
Vernadsky 1500°C stage for heating melt inclusions
2 Bassett-style hydrothermal diamond anvil cells
Leitz Orthoplan petrographic microscope (transmitted & reflected light)
Leitz Labrolux polarizing microscope (transmitted & reflected light)
Olympus BX60 microscope (transmitted & reflected light & UV) Olympus BX51 microscope (transmitted & reflected light & IR)
MicroPublisher 5.0 MP digital camera
