Patrick Wallace is the Assistant Director of the Student Success Center and coordinator of the Black Male Excellence Network (BMEN). Patrick hails from the "City of Brotherly Love," Philadelphia, where he enjoys spending time with his twelve nieces and nephews.
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Penn State University, in Religious Studies, and a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary with an emphasis on Ethics. He also participated in a post-graduate fellowship with The Center of Public Justice in Washington, D.C., where he received training in organizational leadership and change management. He is currently seeking to obtain his Ph.D. in Education Psychology.
Patrick is a visionary and driven leader with years of transferable experience, successfully collaborating with others to accomplish a variety of objectives concerning research projects and student-based programs and organizations. A passionate teacher and mentor who promotes formative collegiate cultures less focused on performance but pivots towards learning and building character. He excels at being an agent for positive change while cultivating equitable and inclusive communities within academic institutions. Due to his desire to foster leadership, education, and community building in students, Patrick embodies the Virginia Tech motto, Ut Prosim, developing leaders who serve.
