Jerrad Miers joined Virginia Tech in March 2012 as the Director of Systems Administration and Technology Support for University Development, and in 2016 assumed that role for the newly-created Advancement Division. In this role he provides strategic oversight to the Advancement Division’s technical support staff and its technology initiatives. Prior to joining Virginia Tech, Jerrad served in Information Technology roles at his alma maters, the University of Missouri and Columbia College. At each stop in his professional journey, Jerrad has exercised servant leadership to form IT departments with a focus on customer service while developing close partnerships with decision-makers across the organization.
Jerrad is very active with Scouts BSA where he is a den leader and activity planner. Jerrad is an outdoorsman with many hobbies, some being woodworking, leatherworking, restorations, biking, computer gaming and reading. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree from Virginia Tech.
