The Graduate School works on the checklist throughout the semester, so it may take a while before they get to your checklist. You should expect it to be completed 8-12 weeks after your graduation. We suggest you keep your own personal checklist while you complete the necessary steps throughout the semester. 

Your employer or other folks who may need proof of your graduation may ask for an official transcript. Your official transcript will not be completed until the Graduate School successfully awards your degree, which takes some time after graduation. If you're looking for verification of degree immediately following graduation, you may request a certified letter or order your official transcript through the National Student Clearinghouse. Your student checklist CANNOT be used as verification for your graduation.

Diplomas are 13.5 inches by 15.5 inches and will be in the current format with current signatures. It takes approximately 10-12 weeks after degree conferral date to receive a diploma.

Sign Up for Commencement in HokieSPA degree menu and click on ‘Graduation’. There you will choose what ceremony you'd like to attend. There are multiple ceremonies, so please contact the correct email for any questions:

Since Summer doesn't have a Graduation, yes you can! You just need to indicate which ceremony that you want to attend on your HokieSPA when filling out the "Graduation" section.

Yes, but I urge you to register ahead of time so they know the headcount and are able to put your name on the big screen. 

You must schedule it manually by reaching out to the Graduate School. Once you have received the information regarding your final exam, you must relay all the exam details to the Graduate School for them to schedule it. Please cc my email, pamelau20@vt.edu, when you request your manual submission.
