We have 11 Dining Centers on campus with 9 being on the residential side. There are 2 more dining halls on the academic side: Perry Place and Turner Place. However, these are only open during the academic week (Monday - Friday), while the residential side dinging halls are open beyond the standard school week. Additionally, different dining hall cater to different meals which will result in differing hours.

Basic Design of a Hokie Passport
You will use your Hokie Passport (basically a Student ID) to pay for your meals on campus. At Virginia Tech, we run a debt-card system. This means that depending on the meal plan you choose, you will start each semester with a lump sum of money. Every time you buy something, you will scan your passport and money will be taken from your meal plan directly. Any extra money from the fall semester will roll over into the spring semester, BUT NO MONEY will roll over from the spring semester into the fall semester
Additionally, you get discounted prices for using your Hokie Passport. At our dining facilities, you get 50% off and 66% off at our all you can eat buffet dining hall, D2.
You can access the breakdown of the dining hall plans here: https://dining.vt.edu/plans_policies.html

PRO TIP: Dining Hall hours are subject to change, ESPECIALLY over breaks. If campus is not in operating hours, then dining halls will not be open, so if you are on campus over any breaks, be prepared to eat out or buy food to cook in your dining halls.
