The Drillfield splits Academic from Residential and Athletic will be past our Residential. On the Residential side of campus, you will find residential housing and the majority of our dining halls. On the Athletic part of campus, you will find our sport facilities such as Lane Stadium, McComas Gym, and Cassell Colosseum.
In the picture below, Residential Halls are detailed in RED and Dining Halls are detailed in ORANGE.
NOTE: Many modes of Transportation will drop you off at Squires Student Center or Burruss Hall and you will have to navigate from that point to your residence halls on foot.
Owen's Mail Room: You will get a specialized address based on your residence hall and room number that your packages can be addressed to. All packages will be delivered to Owen's Mail Room where they will either stay there to be picked up or distributed to one of our 3 mail kiosks around campus. Owen's Mail Room is conveniently located on the bottom of Owen's Dining Hall.
Schiffert Health Center: Schiffert Health Center is attached to McComas Gym on the Athletic Side of campus. You can schedule appointments here for any health needs you might have. Any services will be free or at a very minimal cost to the student.
McComas Gym: McComas Gym is one of our two gym facilities on campus. McComas is located on the start of the Athletic Side of campus. It is right across Washington Street from the Smith Career Center. Any active Virginia Tech student can get into McComas by scanning their Hokie Passport at the reception desk. Access McComas and other athletic facility hours here.
War Memorial Gym: War Memorial Gym is the other gym facility on campus. This gym is located on the RESIDENTIAL SIDE of campus, conveniently near a majority of the dorm buildings. War Memorial is newly renovated and located right next to the Drillfield in between Eggleston and Campbell Halls.
Women's Center: The Women's Center is located just off of campus towards the Downtown Blacksburg area on Washington Street. You can learn about different events and services they provide here.
Student Services: The Student Services building is where you can pick up your Hokie Passport. Additionally, Financial Aid and the Bursar's Office is located in this building. Student Services is located on the Residential Side of campus on Washington Street. It is near Cochrane Hall and Ambler-Johnston Hall.
Smith Career Center: The Smith Career Center offers a multitude of different programs and services for all career needs. They have resume help, career advising, a professional photo booth, and free business outfits through their Career Outfitters Program. You can get a more detailed description of their services here. Additionally, Virginia Tech uses a service called Handshake for professional development where you can make appointments and learn about job opportunities on campus, in the local community, and beyond.
Cook Counseling: Cook Counseling provides mental health services to students ranging from therapy, counseling, and they run different workshops to inform students on good practices.
