The Department of Geosciences worked together with the VT College of Science and the Black College Institute to provide science outreach activities to high school students visiting Virginia Tech for the Black College Institute Pre-College Program.
About 150 "talented, high achieving and intellectually curious rising high school juniors and seniors" were invited to VT "to participate in a 5-day academic summer enrichment program."
Visiting students and chaperones were divided into three groups of 50 prior to the event. Each group arrived at their designated locations at 8:30 AM to begin the first rotation. Each rotation will lasted approximately 25 minutes. After each session, the students moved to their next assigned rotation.
