We use a Google Group for emails. It is imperative that teens AND parents join to ensure they are getting the proper information! We try to get people added, but certain emails have restrictions so it is your responsibility.

FLEx Club is a great way to stay informed and get information in person. The club meets twice a month at DHS in rm 133/157 from 2:45-3:45PM. This is completely optional but highly recommended.

Camp is a leadership experience that starts well before arrival, and communication is a key part of that growth. We expect teens to communicate directly with us, not only about concerns, but also about everyday responsibilities like running late, changes in plans, or questions about schedules. Taking the initiative to reach out builds accountability, problem-solving skills, and confidence. These are essential leadership skills that help teens manage real-world situations independently.
When teens communicate for themselves instead of relying on parents, they learn to take ownership of their commitments and understand the impact their actions have on others. Letting us know about delays or changes helps camp run smoothly, supports safety, and shows respect for the team and fellow peers. Camp provides a safe, supportive environment for teens to practice these skills, and our staff is always ready to listen and help, but we want to hear directly from teens so they can fully step into their role as responsible leaders and make the most of the camp experience.
