Interviews
Interviews are required for FIRST TIME Counselors and all Counselors-in-Training, and are held via ZOOM unless requested in-person. If you were a counselor LAST YEAR, you do not need to interview unless you were sent home or removed from any program. Use the chart to determine if you need to interview. In some rare circumstances, we may ask someone to interview again who might meet the requirements as outlined for a variety of reasons, but we will alert you if this applies to you.
Interview expectations:
show up on time for your interviews. They only take about 7-10 minutes and consist of about 10-15 questions.
prepare as you would for any job interview and treat it as such
interviews occur via zoom unless otherwise requested
videos should be turned ON unless connection prevents it. If you know this will be a problem, then it may be good to schedule an in-person interview
find a quiet space to do your zoom interview, free of other people and distractions as much as possible
know that we are not trying to trick you! This is great practice for you and an opportunity for us to get to know you better! Relax, take a deep breath, and don't forget to smile and let your personality shine through!
Melissa and Hannah are generally both on the call, and they are not recorded unless one of us cannot make it.
It is the teens responsibility to keep up with their day and time for interview--we do not send individual reminders so make your own!
If you cannot make one of the days or times offered, teens are responsible for scheduling an alternate date. DO NOT DELAY as my schedule is limited. All interviews must be completed by January 31.
