What is camp?

4-H Camp provides educational programming through hands-on, experiential learning. 4-H Camp teaches youth to make their own decisions, solve problems, and manage their resources without the help of family. Through involvement in the 4-H camping program, youth gain a better appreciation of family members by learning how to become more responsible.

Who can attend?

4-H camp is open to any youth in Virginia between the ages of 9-13 as of September 30th of this year.

Can parents attend?

There are opportunities for parents to attend camp as trained adult volunteers. Volunteers must complete the Virginia 4-H enrollment process, pass a background check, and complete the required training expectations set forth by Virginia 4-H in order to attend. Note: Camp is designed to be an experience of independence for youth. Additionally, given the roles and supervision expectations of adult volunteers, while adult volunteers are on-site, they may not always be in the presence of their own children. Contact your local agent for more information on this opportunity.
