Coping Skills
Everybody deals with feelings and stress in different ways. It's important to find what helps you when you need to relieve stress and deal with strong emotions. You can utilize the "virtual calm down room" on my landing page. Or take one of the ideas below!
Positive Thinking: our thoughts affect how we feel and our feelings direct our actions. If we can control our thoughts and change them from intrusive thoughts to positive, we will in turn change how our body feels and our actions.
Movement: exercise, walking, yoga, sports, playing with a pet. All types of movement helps our blood get pumping and our feel good chemicals move through our bodies.
Relaxation: deep breathing, stillness, reading, writing, art, music, cuddle a pet.
Talk with a trusted adult.
