About Us

This is Mrs. Tackmann's ninth school year as a school counselor at Verndale Public Schools. Her husband Corey and I have three boys, Miles (5), Remy (3), and Brooks (1). In my free time, I like to garage sale and go thrifting, do DIY projects, work out, explore Minnesota, spend time with friends and family, and cook/bake.

This is Mrs. Lehmkuhl's second year as a school counselor at Verndale Public Schools.  She is married and has three children, Isabelle (16), Keenan, and Elizabeth (12).  Mrs. Lehmkuhl is a MN Vikings fan, loves to golf, and enjoys reading and being with family and friends.

Verndale Public School District Mission Statement

The mission of the Verndale Public School District is to provide a safe and innovative learning environment where

all students are prepared for an ever-changing world through educational excellence.

School Counseling Mission Statement

The mission of the Verndale Public School District counseling program is to provide all students with equal access to a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes academic, social-emotional, and career development. Through this program and collaboration with teachers, administrators, parents, the community, and stakeholders, students will strengthen and develop skills necessary to be lifelong learners, aware of self and others, and responsible members of society. We work with and support students as they gain the competencies necessary to be successful, respectful, and contributing citizens in a diverse and changing society.

Confidentiality

All school counselor's primary ethical obligation for confidentiality is to the students. However, there are times when legal requirements call for a breach of confidentiality. These times include:

If someone is hurting the student.

The student is hurting themselves.

The student is going to hurt someone else.

If one of these statements is true, a school counselor will use the least intrusive means to breach confidentiality. The best practice is that a very limited number of educators would have access to highly sensitive information on a need-to-know basis. Students will be made aware of when a breach of confidentiality is going to happen.
