7th Grade Band

The VPMS Band Program

The 6th grade and 7th grade VPMS bands are primarily focused on the development of musicianship in a concert band setting. The ensembles will perform at 2 evening concerts (Winter and Spring) as well as school assemblies. 7th grade band will have the opportunity to compete in concert band contests occasionally. These contests will take place during the school day.

Uniforms

Concert band – students will be asked to dress professionally for concert band performances. This means no tennis shoes, flip flops, t-shirts, jeans, short skirts/dresses, etc.

Pep band – students are required to purchase a blue band shirt.

Performance off campus – students will be asked to wear all black when representing Valley Park band off campus at festivals that require judging. Ideally, this would be nice black clothing, with no extra writing or pictures. Black pants or skirts are acceptable, as long as they meet the school dress code allowance.
