I am so excited to be teaching fourth grade at Voyager Academy! Teaching is my passion which is what brought me to North Carolina in the first place.
I was born in Boston, Massachusetts but two months later my family decided to move to Vermont. I spent 18 years living in the most beautiful place in the world. There is nothing like Vermont in the Fall!!! After high school, I went to college in New Hampshire. I graduated from Keene State College in 2004 where I double majored, earning a degree in Elementary Education and Communication. (I also recently received a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.) Immediately after college, I moved to North Carolina to follow my dream. I taught at Wilton Elementary School in Granville County from 2004-2012. I then taught second grade at Voyager for nine years and now I am excited to be teaching fourth grade again!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, and our two sons, James and Logan. I also enjoy reading, hiking, and gardening.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the Voyager Academy family. My goal this year is to ensure that every student has a successful and rewarding school year. Through hands-on learning, engaging lessons, community, and parent involvement, this year is sure to be fun and successful for all!
