There are many things that are actually waves. In class, we learned about sound waves and how sound travel from one place to another and hit different objects or matter. We also study two important parts of wave, they are amplitude and wavelength. These are very important because they can change what we hear or see. For example, when amplitude is high, the sound become very loud. When wavelength change, the color or pitch also change. Waves are everywhere around us, even we cannot see it with our eyes.
This presentation is about ocean waves. Before I make this, I did not know much about ocean waves and how they work. We research what ocean waves are and how they can cause damage to beaches and buildings near the sea. It was very interesting to learn because I find many new things during the research. We also try to think about some new and creative solution to solve this problem. I learn a lot from doing this presentation and understand ocean waves more now.
This is my canva project poster about the Optical Illusion. Optical illusion is something that tricks your brain into seeing something that isn't really there, or different. The picture I choose is the rubins vase because I have seen this illusion a lot. I learn that it is easy to trick my brain, so sometimes when I see something, it may not be what is really happening
I think most interesting in the class is the color bottle expeimernt, because it is different from paint. If you are painting, and combine all color, you get brown, but in light, you get white. So I was very confused, but after Mr.Andre explained, I finally understood why it is different. The experiment was very fun.
I want to learn more about optical illusion, because I think it is cool. You can sometime see things they are not really there, and I want to understand more about how the brain is tricked. In the picture, when I first saw it, I saw the girl has very skinny legs. But she is actually holding a bag of popcorn, which looks like the grass.
In the nature, population cannot grow forever because the resources like food, water, and space are limited. When population is small, each person have a little of resources to survive. However, as the population density increases, resource consumption becomes faster and it cause to competition. Someday ,the ecosystem reach its largest capacity the maximum number of people it can support and if there are more the system might crash.
Solar Eclipse: Occurs when the Moon moves directly between the Sun and Earth. The Moon casts its shadow on Earth, temporarily blocking the sunlight.
Lunar Eclipse: Occurs when the Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon. Earth blocks the sunlight from hitting the Moon, placing it in Earth's shadow.
We do not see eclipses every month because the Moon’s orbit is tilted by about five degrees compared to Earth’s orbit around the Sun. Because of this tilt, the Sun, Earth, and Moon do not perfectly align every month. Instead the Moon's shadow usually passes just above or below the Earth, making eclipses rare and special events.
Learning about how the Earth and Moon move in space is really cool, especially when they line up and make shadows. A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth passes right between the Sun and a full Moon, blocking the sunlight and casting a big shadow on the Moon. A solar eclipse is the opposite, happening when a new Moon passes right between the Sun and Earth, casting a small shadow onto us. These don't happen every month because the Moon's path is tilted by about 5 degree, so the Sun, Earth, and Moon only line up perfectly about few times a year or even more, this make eclipses really special to see.
