In this class, I developed a deeper understanding of global issues and how they impact societies. One piece of work I included is my news report about sea level rising. Through this project, I learned how climate change contributes to rising sea levels and the serious effects this has on coastal cities, such as flooding, displacement, and economic loss. Creating this news report helped me improve my research skills, organize information clearly, and think critically about real-world challenges.
I analyzed how cities changed over time due to environmental and human factors. I compared past and present conditions and explained how these changes affected people, resources, and city development.
I think the most interesting part was writing cuneiform code on clay. This activity helped me learn by doing and made the lesson more engaging.
I also write more efficiently in class now because I can hand in my work faster while still doing it carefully and correctly. This helps me manage my time better and stay focused during class.
This topic connects to real life because many cities today face similar challenges, such as climate change, rising sea levels, or urban decline. It helped me understand how these issues affect people now and in the future.
I learned to think more deeply about how human actions impact cities and communities. Emotionally, I became more aware of how change can affect people’s lives and why empathy is important.
My work is well-organized, clear, and uses proper grammar and vocabulary. I explained my ideas clearly and supported them with examples and evidence.
The article explains that sea level does not rise at the same rate everywhere when Antarctic ice melts because the ice’s gravity pulls ocean water toward it.
When the ice melts, this pull becomes weaker, causing sea levels to rise more in places far from Antarctica, such as the Pacific Islands, parts of Asia, and the Atlantic Ocean.
I think this is especially unfair because many of these areas did not cause much climate change but are facing the worst impacts. In my opinion, governments should use this information to better plan for flooding and protect vulnerable coastal communities.
The article explains that scientists are still uncertain about how fast sea levels will rise because ice sheets in Antarctica and Greenland can melt or collapse suddenly. Sea-level rise is caused by melting ice and warmer oceans expanding, and even small increases can lead to serious flooding in coastal areas. I think this uncertainty is worrying because it means people may not have enough time to prepare for floods and storms. Governments should take these predictions seriously and start planning earlier instead of waiting for exact numbers. In my opinion, reducing greenhouse gas emissions now is important because delaying action could lead to much worse damage in the future.
This is our video~~
This video explains how Earth used to be clean, balanced, and full of life before humans caused damage. As people take more resources, cut down forests, and create pollution, nature becomes weaker. Pollution from cars, factories, and plastic makes the air, water, and soil unhealthy. Burning fossil fuels causes global warming, leading to stronger typhoons, floods, droughts, melting ice, and rising sea levels. As humans expand, animals lose their habitats, many species become endangered, and ecosystems begin to collapse.
I think this video clearly shows how human actions are hurting the planet. The images and explanations make the problems easy to understand and serious to think about. It made me realize that pollution and climate change are not far away. Its the way that they affect animals, nature, and people right now. I believe humans need to change their habits and protect the Earth before the damage becomes worse.
In this team project, I completed most of the work. by myself, including organizing the content, writing the script, explaining the environmental problems and their effects and making the video.
I made sure the message was clear and meaningful so the audience could understand the importance of protecting nature.
