Music meter is a interactive dashboard application that allows users to explore trends in music based on different groups of people
For this project, creating a dashboard for a persona based on research from the music industry was implemented. These graphs needed to consist out of data we had to collect through the term. The theme used in this project was age, generations and tech.
The persona had difficulty keeping track of trending music and artists. He also would like to know the age groups and genre of music that is popular.
How might the user keep track of current trend in the music industry in order to know their target audience?
Design a dashboard and gather information about streaming services and music genres. Display these statistics to the user through charts in the theme of music.
Larry Clarke is a 26 year old sound designer from Austin Texas. When He is not busy designing music or sound effects he spends his time researching trending music. The driving theme is music and streaming services.
The data sets contain the visual development of the wireframes from start to finnish. All of them can be seen from the first iterated sketch to the final concept and design.
The dashboard showcases the 4 different data sets with a live view of each. This screen expresses the design of the app and its overall look and feel. The user will also be able to click on each screen in order to get a more detailed view of all the information.
The following screens are two detailed views that showcases data gathered from music research. These screens go into more detail and allows the user to filter or single out certain categories like formats and platforms
The Project as a whole was interesting and challenging, but also helped to understand how to compile research into a dashboard and make relevant graphs which fits the theme/unique angle.
The dashboard speaks to the user in the sense that the theme relates directly to their field of interest. The dashboard aids to the personas needs and problems.
