Old Dominion University School of Nursing has been a leader of nursing education in the Commonwealth for over 53 years. The School of Nursing is recognized for its strong educational programs that prepare exceptional nurses for professional practice. Our pre-licensure BSN NCLEX-RN pass rates are consistently above 90% and the certification pass rates for all graduate advanced practice programs are consistently 95-100%. For nearly 30 years we have been in leader in distance RN-BSN programming and, our online graduate programs are consistently recognized by U.S. News and World Report as being in the top 25% of online graduate nursing programs nationally. We are a leader in the use of standardized patients for clinical nursing education and innovators of telehealth education and research for nursing and other health professions. In 2019, ODU School of Nursing was a recipient of the AACN Academic-Practice Partnership Award, a national recognition for our work with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Sentara Ambulatory Care Clinic.

ODU School of Nursing undergraduate programs offer the traditional BSN, VET-PRN program, Online RN to BSN, and a Dual Enrollment program. Nursing graduate hybrid programs include these areas of concentration CNS, FNP, PNP, NNP, PMHNP, and Midwifery. The DNP programs: Nurse Executive, Advance Practice and Anesthesia. Part-time and full-time enrollment schedules are available for most programs. Most importantly, tuition at ODU is among the most affordable in Virginia and nationwide, providing nurses with a cost-effective option to continue their education while working and managing their families.
